英语故事
A perceptive squirrel named Squeaky lived in a deciduous forest. Squeaky wasn't interested in just gathering nuts; he had a utilitarian approach to life. He observed the humans who sometimes visited the forest, especially their commission of building bird feeders. Squeaky saw this as a breakthrough in interspecies cooperation. He decided to subtract his own efforts from the usual nut-burying routine. Instead, he would 'commission' the humans by leaving shiny pebbles near their bird feeders, hoping to inspire them to leave out more than just seeds. He reasoned, 'If they inspire birds with food, maybe I can inspire them with shiny things to leave more!' His logical, albeit slightly skewed, plan was to subtract the need for him to hoard food by making the humans a more reliable source. The utilitarian squirrel believed this breakthrough in thinking would make his life much easier, all thanks to his perceptive observation and a deciduous forest full of potential pebble-givers.
